'Unacceptable risk': Just a week after causing a stockmarket meltdown overseas, Chinese AI app DeepSeek has attracted the attention of security agencies here at home. The app is now banned on federal government devices, amid "serious concerns" about data collection.

Federal politics: This summer's spate of antisemitic attacks led to tense exchanges yesterday in parliament. The government's proposed new hate crime laws are already coming under scrutiny▶️ with one independent keen to "go further" on tackling those pushing hate in the community.
