A Message from Principal Peterson
Welcome back! It has been wonderful seeing our students return with excitement and energy as we begin the first full week of school post-winter break. I’ve been amazed with how great they have transitioned back after our extended time away.

This week, we’ve been busy! Our 4th graders impressed us all during their strings concert, showcasing their hard work and musical talents. Additionally, midyear testing is underway, giving us valuable insights into our students’ growth and learning needs. We are proud of their focus and perseverance during this time.
As temperatures remain extremely cold, please make sure your child comes to school bundled up in warm layers. Warm layers include a coat. A sweatshirt/hoodie is not a coat. If your child needs a coat, please reach out to me or one of our family liaisons. Our goal is to keep everyone healthy and comfortable during these chilly days.

On Monday, January 20th, we will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a time to reflect on the legacy of Dr. King and his work to promote equality, justice, and unity. I encourage families to take this opportunity to discuss his contributions and think about how we can all strive to make our communities kinder and more inclusive. School will be closed to students and staff.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making Riverside Elementary a place where every student belongs and thrives. Let’s finish the month of January off with great attendance….send your children to school every day! |
