OFCCP Honors the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Every year OFCCP honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s contributions to the fight for equality. An advocate for workers’ rights, Dr. King helped define the movement for equal employment opportunity in the form of better jobs and higher wages.
Dr. King's commitment to equality is deeply embedded in the mission of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. Each day at OFCCP we protect workers, promote diversity and enforce the law. Our work to advance equal opportunity and eradicate systemic discrimination is critical to effectively addressing the longstanding barriers embedded in many employment policies and practices.
During the Biden-Harris administration, OFCCP secured $16,400,000 and 954 job offers for 24,243 Black job seekers and workers who were victims of unlawful discrimination. We also provided hundreds of hours of compliance assistance to federal contractors and subcontractors on how to meet their contractual obligations and eliminate discriminatory barriers to equal employment.
All of us have a role to play in honoring Dr. King's legacy and ensuring his dream is fully realized. Join us today and everyday as we take actionable steps in advancing equal employment opportunities for all by reviewing our contractor Compliance Assistance Guides.
