The children’s book world is rallying to support Los Angeles families, communities, and relief organizations in the wake of this month’s unprecedented wildfire. In Italy, the Bologna Book Fair’s adult-focused sibling, BolognaBookPlus, will launch an AI summit this April. Alessandra Balzer and Donna Bray have announced the first list at Balzer + Bray since its move from HarperCollins to Macmillan last spring. A grand jury in San Diego has charged three people involved with the PageTurner Press and Media publishing scam. The Supreme Court has ruled to uphold the recently passed law requiring TikTok to be sold or banned, with CNBC reporting that U.S. users could lose access to the app as early as Sunday. Pulitzer Prize–winning comics artist Darrin Bell has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, according to the New York Times. The Intelligencer reports that former New York Times Book Review editor and current Times opinion columnist Pamela Paul is headed for the door. Book Riot details the struggles over the freedom to read at the Alpena Public Library in northern Michigan. ABC 7 highlights a big book giveaway in Brooklyn this Saturday. Dazed takes a look at the practice of bibliotherapy. Vulture offers a cheat sheet for the works of Rebecca Yarros, whom they call the “queen of dragon smut.” (Justice for Anne McCaffrey!) And Joan Suhr, a former executive at Western Publishing, which founded the Little Golden Books series, has died at 89.
