** Unlock the Past: Public Domain Day 2025 Collections

On January 1, titles published in 1929 entered the public domain in the United States, including more than 76,000 items in the HathiTrust collection. With 60,380 titles also available to global readers, our 2025 public domain collections showcase the titles contributed by and preserved for public access by our community of HathiTrust member libraries.

When conducting an Advanced Search (https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/ls?a=page&page=advanced&mc_cid=6d20b1d620&mc_eid=UNIQID) , you can now limit search results to a specific “Original Location.” The “Original Location” specifies which HathiTrust member library contributed a digital item to the HathiTrust collection. All 60+ contributing libraries (https://www.hathitrust.org/member-libraries/contribute-content/contributors/?mc_cid=6d20b1d620&mc_eid=UNIQID) are included in the list on the Advanced Search page
