Trash/Recycling/Yard Waste Curbside Routes – Regular collection "Dreams, Faith, and Justice in Action" Tribute Arlington will honor the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special tribute on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. This celebration will feature an inspiring blend of storytelling, music, dance. This year’s tribute, titled “Dreams, Faith, and Justice In Action” will spotlight local organizations that embody Dr. King's principles of equality, justice, and service, demonstrating how his vision is brought to life every day in Arlington. The production is proud to feature renowned recording artist and community choir Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music. The stage will also be graced by WAMMIE award winner and R&B singer, Carly Harvey, the Patterson Elementary School Choir, and more. WATCH LIVE Jan. 19 at 5 p.m.: Dreams, Faith, and Justice in Action MLK Day of Service Continuing the spirit of service, Volunteer Arlington will host the annual MLK Day of Service on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Washington-Liberty High School and other locations around Arlington. Participants can engage in various service projects and receive volunteer training. Although the event is free, registration is essential. Inauguration Day The 60th Inauguration of the President of the United States will take place on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. As this is an evolving special event, any additional pertinent information related to Arlington County operations will be added to the holiday schedule webpage. The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) will deploy increased police resources in Arlington County, to include both visible and non-visible assets, leading up to and during Inauguration Day. ACPD remains in contact with our law enforcement partners in the region and is prepared to provide assistance and resources as needed. |
