The 2025 MLK Tribute, themed "Dreams, Faith, and Justice in Action," continues this meaningful tradition with an inspiring program.
This year's event will feature powerful dance performances, moving musical renditions, and captivating oration all showcasing the vibrant talent within our community, including Arlington Arts' favorite Carly Harvey and Encore Stage & Studio. In addition, the program will spotlight local organizations that embody Dr. King's principles of equality, justice, and service, demonstrating how his vision is brought to life every day in Arlington. Join the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington for an “Arty Party” as they celebrate the first year of their Innovation Studio + Store opening in National Landing. Event highlights include a Mixed Media Paper Lantern Craft, inspired by the work of artist Liz Tran, and a meet and greet with Current Resident Artist Negar Ahkami, an interdisciplinary painter inspired by her family’s Iranian heritage. Japanese New Year Celebration

The Japanese New Year's Festival (Washington Shinshun Matsuri) is coming to Arlington for the first time! Study Japanese in Arlington (SJA) is co-hosting this event along with JCAW (Japanese Commerce Association of Washington, D.C.), Tanpopo Gakuen, and Washington Japanese Language School.
You can try Hyakunin Isshu karuta, calligraphy, origami, and traditional Japanese games such as Sugoroku and Shateki (shooting gallery), as well as a children's shopping arcade. Snacks will also be available for purchase in the food court. More

Friends Artspace is honored to present the work of nine artists and design studios from Southwest Asia and North Africa and their diasporas: Afraa Ahmed (Yemen/Egypt), Anahita (Ani) Bradberry (Iran/USA), Moïo Studio (Palestine/France), Maryam Al-Homaid (Qatar), Maryam Turkey (Iraq/USA), Nour Hage (Lebanon/UAE), REJO Design Studio (Palestine/Saudi Arabia), Tamara Barrage (Lebanon/UAE), and Tamara Kalo (Lebanon/Saudi Arabia). Drawing from their manifold cultural ties and contemporary design practices, these artists craft memory-laden, futurist works in ceramic, glass, textile, plaster and light—souvenirs of home that resound with intimacy and innovation. Documentary Screening and Discussion: "Join or Die"
