We’ve got our work cut out for us during this administration. As we head into Inauguration Weekend, we wanted to take a moment to remind you of the critical role newsrooms play and how you can help power this important work. 

We want to be a go-to resource for our readers. We'll do that by making information easy to access and by publishing stories that inform, entertain and occasionally infuriate readers -- and above all, inspire you to get involved. 

The last time we kicked off a Trump presidency, in addition to writing about his rulings on environmental issues, or his effect on online dating or keeping track of Texas GOP members who were suddenly sidling up to the president although some called him a “cancer on conservatism” while he was seeking office. Those were former Gov. Rick Perry’s words, whose change of heart came not long before he was selected to be secretary of the Energy Department. The more things change…
