As the business world awaits whatever economic impact could come from the incoming Trump Administration, many are reading the tea leaves on what his proclaimed support for tariffs might mean for consumers—and markets.

Trump has said that tariffs will allow his administration to “relocate entire industries” to the U.S. Though as
Forbes senior writer Cyrus Farivar reports in his recent feature, such reshoring is unlikely, and certainly not at the scale and speed that Trump wants.

But another country will likely become a major beneficiary of Trump’s policies.

“If previously it was made in China,
now it’s going to be made in Vietnam,” Jason Miller, a professor of supply chain management at Michigan State University, told Forbes. “That production is not coming back to America.”
