There won’t be a strike at PBS after all. WGA-represented writers for the public network reached an agreement ahead of their cutoff time midnight on Thursday, TheWrap has learned.

“THIRTEEN, GBH and PBS SoCal are pleased to have reached an agreement with WGA East,” the stations said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our work to deliver trusted public media to our audiences.”

Amazon is investing another $4 billion in Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company that rivals OpenAI and is led by several of its former employees, the company announced Friday. The $4 billion investment brings Amazon’s total stake in Anthropic to $8 billion, as it battles other major tech giants like Microsoft in the budding AI sector.

As part of the new deal, Amazon said in a blog post that Anthropic would use Amazon Web Services as its “primary training partner.” The deepening relationship between the two companies comes a few months after Reuters reported Anthropic’s Claude chatbot will serve as the backbone to Amazon’s Alexa update, which is expected to release in 2025. Anthropic will also use Amazon’s Trainium and Inferentia chips moving forward as part of the new investment, Amazon said in a blog post.

Last Friday’s boxing match between YouTuber-boxer Jake Paul and heavyweight legend Mike Tyson was billed by Netflix as one for the ages. 

But the streamer’s first major foray into live sports — and first foray into live boxing — was plagued by technical issues for the livestream, which Netflix claimed had 65 million concurrent streams around the world. And the headline contest between the 27-year-old Paul and 58-year-old Tyson spurred boos from the crowd at AT&T Stadium outside Dallas and a torrent of reactions from fans and boxing aficionados alike, who accused the fighters of staging the fight, which Paul won handily in an eight-round decision.
