President-elect Donald Trump has selected motivational speaker Scott Turner of the America First Policy Institute to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the transition announced Friday.
Turner, who is chair of the Center for Education Opportunity at the Trump-allied think tank and is a former professional football player, previously served as executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council.
He served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017.
