Ending TODAY: Annual Sister School Food Drive, Nov 18-22

Help feed families in need from our sister school. The need for donations is very high this year.  Many families at Glen Forest Elementary are struggling with food insecurity.  Every donation makes a difference! The collection boxes for food donations are outside the main entrance of GFES ... ALL donations will be delivered to Glen Forest THIS AFTERNOON, November 22.

Early Release Monday! 12/9/2024

The next 3-Hour Early Release Monday will take place on December 9th (note: this is a change from the dates the county put out this summer). Please check your inbox for an eNotify with all the specifics regarding notifying the school of your child’s dismissal information and after-school arrangements.

Diversity Showcase! Sign up for a booth or performance! December 5, 2024 

Diversity Showcase Theme: "Celebrating the World: A Tapestry of Holidays and Traditions"

This holiday season, we invite you to embark on a vibrant journey through the rich tapestry of global celebrations, showcasing the unique customs, traditions, and festive spirit that span cultures, continents, and communities. "Celebrating the World: A Taperstry of Holidays and Traditions" is an opportunity to explore how different cultures honor the season of giving, reflection, and renewal.

Join us on December 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as we come together to share traditions, stories, music, dance, and food from our community’s holidays and traditions.

This year’s theme emphasizes how these diverse practices—whether through food, music, dance, storytelling, or ritual—serve as bridges to connection, building understanding across cultures. We are looking for families to share their traditions by showcasing them in one of 20 available booths or through a presentation (performance, storytelling, reading a book, etc.). The sky’s the limit!

In addition to the booths and presentations, concessions will be available, with cash preferred for ease of purchase.

Whether it’s a holiday rooted in tradition or a family custom passed down through generations, each celebration contributes to the beautiful mosaic of our community. Together, let’s honor the values that unite us—joy, love, and understanding.

Through this event, we hope to create an inclusive space where every culture feels seen and celebrated, and where we can all connect through the universal themes of family, generosity, and renewal that are embodied in holiday traditions around the world.

Make Up Picture Day! 

Make Up Picture Day will be on Wednesday, December 11th! If you still need to purchase a photo package, go to  www.strawbridge.net and enter the code: FM453628. 

If you haven’t already, you can also click here to sign up to receive updates via email regarding your child’s school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals, and the ability to order more pictures after picture day. When entering your student’s information, please be sure to enter it exactly as it is on file with GFES.

By donating at least $250 to the Roadrunner Giving Campaign by October 31st, the Rodgers Family was automatically entered into the Principal for the Day raffle!! Help Stock The Teacher’s Lounge!

Thank you so much to all of the families who purchased items off our Amazon Wishlist during our PTA meeting on Wednesday! These items help keep the teacher’s lounge stocked with yummy treats for the teachers and staff!

GFES PTA Spirit Day with Chick-Fil-A 

Congratulations to Ms. Day’s class for winning the in-store contest! On Tuesday, Ms. Day’s class got to meet the Chick-Fil-A Cow and they were gifted special treat cards for winning the contest!
