Bryan Kohberger, who is accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in 2022, can face the death penalty if he is convicted, the trial judge ruled.

Kohberger's defense team previously argued that the state's available execution methods are unconstitutional. But Judge Steven Hippler said in his ruling that the defense failed to provide an alternative method to death by lethal injection or firing squad that is not "unduly painful."
