As we approach the end of the year, we are reflecting on all we’ve accomplished together in 2024. Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in The Serica Initiative’s mission; this has been our most impactful year yet—a year of growth, empowerment, and storytelling.

Here’s what we achieved together:

  • Produced 5 new episodes of Climate Artists, with already over 100,000 combined views, bringing climate awareness to center stage through AAPI perspectives.

  • Received several film festival accolades, including Best Episodic at the NY Climate Film Festival for sTo Len's Climate Artist episode.

  • Through Yuri Education & TAAF, our films are being converted into K-12 lesson plans and taught in classrooms. 

  • Expanded our storytelling reach with Voices Rising:What’s Next for Asian Americans in the…? , a new series that debuted this year with a focus on Arts (NYC) and Food (Seattle), with much more to come in 2025, including episodes featuring doctors, athletes, and other trailblazers.

  • Honored excellence at our annual AAPI Women’s Gala, celebrating 9 honorees and 3 rising stars.

  • Held 6 live events for more than 1000 participants, including two Voices Rising programs in NYC and Seattle, in partnership with WNET/PBS, where we amplified AAPI narratives through art, comedy, and culture.

  • Presented 8 powerful webinars, tackling topics from sustainability to leadership

  • Hosted more than 220 attendees who gained valuable insights from eminent leaders at monthly CEO Dinners, fostering vital connections and sparking thoughtful dialog.

  • Supported our partners TAAF, Mixed Asian Media, New Breath Foundation, China Institute, TCFA, and more in community building activities.

  • Assisted CINGS (China Institute NextGen Serica) as it transitioned from 30 to 70+ young, eager philanthropic members to create impact in their community.

  • Grew our digital community, gaining over 5,000 new social media subscribers and surpassing 70,000 newsletter subscribers.

  • Secured a record amount of funding, enabling the expansion of our programs and outreach.

We are honored to share these milestones, which reflect the dedication, collaboration, and collective commitment of our team, partners, and supporters.

This is merely the beginning. In 2025, we will elevate Serica to new heights through ongoing community-building initiatives and events, alongside a comprehensive brand and website refresh. We are also excited to launch an AAPI Mentorship Program this spring, as well as leverage our new U.S. State Department grant to expand "Climate Artists" into Asia under the name Climate Bridges, and introduce additional transformative programs and events designed to empower voices across the Asian American diaspora.
