Area residents from the Greater Washington National Capital Region (D.C., MD, VA) can apply to win a free wedding, attend a romance-themed Author Talk series, and enjoy a variety of love-centric programs, collections, and surprises at the library in 2025. “At Arlington Public Library, we believe in the power of love," said Library Director Diane Kresh. Get Married at the Library To share the love, Arlington Public Library is going to pick one couple to win a free wedding at Central Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Arlington Public Library. Arlington Public Library is for everyone and celebrates all forms of love—all unmarried, engaged couples are welcome to apply. The library has one question for the couple: “Why would you love to get married at the library?” Wedding applications are due by Fri., Jan. 24, 2025.
"Arlington Reads" Returns with a Big Heart Romance is the theme for the 2025 Arlington Reads author talk series, which will feature five acclaimed writers: Julia Quinn (Feb. 13), Curtis Sittenfeld (Apr. 10), Casey McQuiston (Aug. 10) and David and Nicola Yoon (Nov. 6). A genre largely written by women for women, romance has exploded on the scene to include a wide diversity of authors and stories. The Author Talk series kicks off at Kenmore Middle School with Julia Quinn on Feb. 13, 2025. Quinn is the author of the “Bridgerton” series which has been adapted into a popular Netflix series.
