The PTSA organizes a weekly Friday Breakfast Station during the year stocked with contributions by fellow McLean HS families. The Friday Breakfast Station is set up in the front office and teachers & staff are grateful each week for your donations. PTSA Appreciates McLean High School’s Psychologists!

Last week, the PTSA celebrated School Psychologist Appreciation Week. The PTSA presented gift bags to the school psychologists in appreciation for all they do for the school community. The PTSA, through the Hospitality Committee, supports staff throughout the year by planning appreciation events such as these gifts. Dr. Parker-Lewis and Ms. Forrest, Thank you for all that you do for our community!

“Giving Thanks by Giving Back”

Dear McLean Parents,

Thanks to your generous support, the annual campaign for the 2024-2025 school year has been a great success so far! We’ve raised $39,200 toward our goal of $51,000, but we still need your help to fund this year’s exciting activities and initiatives. Together, we can continue to create amazing opportunities for our students, teachers, and community at McLean High School.

To help us get closer to our goal, we’re launching the “Giving Thanks by Giving Back” campaign, running now through November 30th. Our target is to raise an additional $11,800, and we’re aiming for 66 families to contribute at a recommended amount of $180 per family.

By donating $180, families will be able to choose one of the following thank-you gifts:

• A red McLean insulated water bottle, or
• A $30 Peter Chang gift card or
• A 5*7 red or gray McLean High School engraved leather picture frame

We also have a generous corporate sponsor for the Thanksgiving Campaign!

Marigold Prep (https://www.marigoldprep.com/) donated a spot to attend one of their scheduled group classes / bootcamps on SAT or ACT. These classes include 12 hours of live instruction spread across 4-6 weeks, are capped to a maximum of 6 students, and typically cost $900 to attend. There is only on spot!

The first family who donates $450 not only will receive one of the gifts listed above, but also this prize!

2024 White House Ornaments Fundraiser

The McLean PTSA is offering the Official 2024 White House Ornaments as a fundraiser. This year, the Official White House Christmas Ornament honors President Jimmy Carter. The ornament has an anchor shape, an iconic symbol of hope, which represents Carter's service in the United States Navy and highlights historic moments from his life and presidency. The ornament is made from solid brass, finished in 24-karate gold, and screen printed with exquisite colors. Each ornament comes in a keepsake box with a ribbon for hanging and an illustrated booklet on the Carter presidency. Perfect gift for your family, friends, staff, and clients!

Plus, your purchase supports the Graduation Party for the Class of 2025.

McLean and Langley Crew Clubs'

Turkey Trot 5K Fundraiser

Please join McLean Crew Club and Langley Crew Club, on Saturday, November 30 at 9 am for a Turkey Trot 5K. The friendly rivals are joining together as ONE team to support and strengthen rowing in our McLean and Great Falls community. Proceeds from the event will be shared equally between the two teams.

In addition to a scenic 5K run, there will be a dj with music and a coffee truck for specialty coffee and hot chocolate, starting at 8 am on the day of the trot. For those who cannot join in person, please consider registering for the virtual trot.

Looking for an opportunity to practice for the SAT and ACT? The McLean PTSA is partnering with The Princeton Review and Marigold Prep to offer practice tests. Each testing session starts at 9am. The test dates are as follows: 

SAT : January 11, 2025; April 5, 2025

ACT : January 4, 2025; March 1, 2025; April 26, 2025

Join us virtually to take the full-length practice tests. The registration fee is $20 per exam. 

Registration closes 3 days prior to each exam, and you will receive an email with further instructions regarding the testing session. After each test, you will receive a comprehensive score report detailing your strengths and weaknesses.
