It's hard to know how that will turn out, but we can be sure of one thing: If Donald Trump wins, there will be a flood of stories about Americans moving to Canada, followed by very few of them actually doing so. As any unsuccessful student can attest, ignoring deadlines will never, ever come back to haunt you. Perhaps that's the philosophy behind Prime Minister Justin Trudeau skipping past the demand of caucus dissidents that he step aside by yesterday as if it never happened. While Trudeau continued to insist that the Liberals have "total unity," his detractors are calling for a secret ballot to test that assumption. There's another issue of concern for the Liberals: The Bloc Québécois looks like it's getting serious about bringing down the government. Cue the Jaws theme music.

Voters in Regina and Saskatoon made it clear they wanted an NDP government in yesterday's Saskatchewan election, voting orange in 24 of 26 constituencies. Voters elsewhere, however, were just as convinced to stick with the Saskatchewan Party, and that rural rout paved the way to re-election for Scott Moe, albeit with a much slimmer majority this time. Meanwhile, the B.C. election drama finally drew to a close, with Premier David Eby's NDP remaining in power with a majority of ... drumroll, please
