I’m working on some Fusion lessons for my 11-year-old son.

He can print stuff.

Now I want to teach him how to design his own stuff.

But when you’re new, there’s a lot to figure out before you’ve even made anything.

Pick a plane.

Okay… which one?

Draw a sketch.

Wait. How big is it? Are we using inches or millimeters?

And now we need constraints???

We were just trying to make a rectangle.

These basics become automatic after a while. But they’re confusing when you’re starting.

So I made this video with him—and anyone new to Fusion—in mind.

Ten sketching tips covering planes, dimensions, units, constraints, and the little things that can trip you up.

P.S. Don’t let another project stall out. Fusion Jumpstart will give you the structure, clarity, and confidence to design and print just about anything in Fusion.
