Dear NewBostonPost Readers, October brings some of the best days of the year to Massachusetts. The leaves are turning, the Bruins are back and the Celtics season opener is approaching. The Head of the Charles adds another fall tradition, while the governor’s race gives us plenty to cover. Over the past six months, we’ve redesigned our website to make it easier to find and share stories. We’ve added an audio feature so you can listen to articles hands-free. We’re also exploring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can listen in your car. Your story tips, suggestions and subscriptions have helped us improve NewBostonPost and expand our coverage. Thank you for reading and sharing our work. To help you follow the governor’s race, we’ve created dedicated sections for Maura Healey and Mike Minogue. Each brings our coverage of the candidate together in one place, making it easier to catch up on their positions and campaigns. Our Spotlight series continues to introduce readers to people who help shape Massachusetts. Stephanie Rasmuson’s latest interview features businessman and philanthropist Raymond Ruddy. He discusses building Maximus, his Catholic faith and his charitable work. Stephen Beale continues to examine issues that deserve closer scrutiny, including the financial legacy of the Big Dig. Susan Arico’s columns offer thoughtful reflections on everyday life. Their work complements our daily reporting and gives readers more reasons to return. Our growing partnership with Mike Urban and his shows also brings readers more video and commentary. The Morning Bell now reaches more than 20,000 readers each day. Our new Facebook page has grown substantially following recent updates. Every time you forward the newsletter or share a story, you help someone else discover NewBostonPost. Some readers have also asked where they can get a NewBostonPost polo, T-shirt or hooded sweatshirt. I love that people want to wear our name around town. We’re working on a store with a small selection of apparel to start, along with opportunities to win some items for free. If you haven’t subscribed, I hope you’ll consider it. An annual subscription costs $40, which works out to about $3.33 a month. Your support helps us keep covering Massachusetts and asking questions about the decisions that affect people here.

For just $40 per year, you directly fund expanded reporting, new writers, and principled coverage rooted in faith, family, and freedom.
