Plus: Josh Hartnett's Middle-Age Renaissance

It appears we are fully in the midst of a Josh Hartness-sance. The actor broke out in 1998 with the one-two punch of cult horror faves Halloween H2O and The Faculty, so it’s perhaps appropriate that he’s everywhere this spooky season. His creepy new film, Verity, dropped earlier this month, and on Thursday, Netflix released Below, a scary series in which he served double duty as star and producer. (I binged it all day-of, and loved it.) It’s not like he ever went away, you’ll realize when you read Savannah Walsh’s revealing interview with the now-48-year-old heartthrob, but even he admits that things are different for him in this moment. “I feel like only now am I getting to work with the people that I want to work with on a level that I want to work with them on,” he tells Savannah. “I’m only now coming into a place where I can make the more interesting choices in the films that I take on that will then establish me as the kind of actor that I believe I’ve always wanted to be.”

Speaking of revealing interviews, they abound in our New Establishment list, which we dropped on Monday. If you’re anything like most of the folks on that docket, you were probably too busy to read the whole juicy package when it landed. This weekend is a perfect time to dive in and see what all the buzz is about.
