‘No moral victories’
The Raiders may have actually gained more national respect from their first loss of the season than they did from starting the year with three consecutive wins. After beating three teams with one combined victory, the Raiders stood toe-to-toe with the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and had a late lead before falling just short in front of a national audience with the top CBS commentating crew calling the action. The narrow defeat apparently did more to announce their arrival on the national stage than any of their victories.

Thornton returns to practice
Dont’e Thornton Jr. hadn’t practiced since early in training camp, but based on his swagger and the pep in his step, the wide receiver's hamstring isn’t hurting anymore. The Raiders opened the practice window for Thornton and have 21 days to activate him from injured reserve.

Running on empty
Despite their early-season success in the standings, the Raiders find themselves right back at the bottom of the league in rushing with 3.1 yards per carry. The offensive line knows it needs to be better in order for the running game to thrive.

Rookie WR ready for larger role
Malik Benson prepares every week to play 60 snaps per game. The rookie wideout's preparation could pay off Sunday with the team’s receiving corps ailing because of injuries to Jalen Nailor (concussion) and Jack Bech (fractured left forearm).
