A public meeting of NOAA’s Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026. This will be a hybrid meeting, held in person with a virtual option.

The agenda includes updates from Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary staff and council member constituent reports. There will be presentations on partnership and Friends of Flower Garden Banks and mesophotic deep benthic communities connections to fish, shrimp, and marine mammals.

The public comment period for the council meeting is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. If you want to make public comments, you may sign up at the meeting venue or submit a request through the question/chat box of the online webinar. Public comments will be limited to three (3) minutes per person.

Comments submitted through this meeting will be considered part of the administrative record for Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council meetings.

Sanctuary Saturday at Moody Gardens

Join us on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston, Texas, to learn more about the corals of the Gulf. This event will take place in front of the Coral Rescue Lab in the Aquarium.
