Hi Huj,

Some of you have finished a SEALFIT Crucible. Some of you started one and did not finish. Maybe you rang out, got pulled on a standard, or your body made the decision for you. And some of you have been circling the idea for years without ever signing up.

We are writing to all three of you on purpose, because the thing that matters here was never the challenge coin. It was the moment you decided you wanted to find out what you were actually made of.

Take a minute with this before you read any further.

If you finished, what has it been worth since? Not on the day. Since. In the bad quarter. In the hospital waiting room. In the marriage that needed work. In the 4am you no longer dread.

If you did not finish, you went to an edge that most people never walk up to, and you found out exactly where yours was that day. That is real information about yourself, and it does not expire. Most of you already know whether it is still sitting there unfinished.

If you never went, something keeps pulling you back to this. You have opened the page. You have run the math on your training. That pull is worth paying attention to.

All three of those are the same thing: a person deciding to face something hard on purpose, and coming out different.

That is precisely the work the Mark Divine Courage Foundation does with veterans. Post-traumatic growth training and support, not managing what happened to them, but building a life on the far side of it. Same reset. Higher stakes.

Here is what we are considering.

A SEALFIT Crucible in Summer 2027 at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, California, run as a fundraiser for the Foundation. Six, twelve, and twenty-four hour events, and full KOKORO.

Nothing is decided. That is the honest status, and this email is part of how the decision gets made.

Before the Foundation commits its money or its name, we need a real read on whether people would show up, and whether people would back it. So we are asking you first.

→ Take the survey

It is short. No payment, no commitment, no registration. It asks which Crucible you would do and when, and if participating is not for you whether you would consider supporting the Foundation as a corporate sponsor, by funding a participant scholarship, by covering a registration for someone in your life, or with a direct gift.

If you never do a single burpee at this event, your answer still counts. Half of what makes this work is the people standing behind it.

Please answer now rather than later. The Board reviews these responses to decide whether this goes forward at all, and answers that arrive after that decision do not count.

One more thing.

The SEAL Teams were my first service. The Courage Foundation is my second. David came to KOKORO out of the worst stretch of his life and now coaches veterans through the same work that pulled him out of it. Neither of us is finished serving.

Finished, unfinished, or never started, this is a way to hand what you found to someone who needs it more.

Hooyah!
