carrot and ginger soup

Mother Other

Nothing says fall like soup, and at Mother Other, a new vegan restaurant in the Denver Design District off South Broadway, I found a contender for most festive in the city. Their carrot and ginger bisque ($12) has flavor as rich as its orange color, the ginger and sesame chili oil slowly building heat off the soup's warmth. And the carrot chips spread over the top gave it an excellent crunchy counterpart, in addition to making this the first meal I've had that resembled roast comic Carrot Top. The menu at Mother Other is turning over next month, so catch Carrot Top in town while you can.
