I set aside a quiet afternoon checking the richer colors I have worn for years. Initially I felt that Deep Winter was the obvious answer for me. However, charcoal often looks polished while very black tops sometimes make my face look tired. I checked navy, espresso, cool gray, and muted plum near my face. The notes made me less certain that one label tells the whole story. I am beginning to test colors that feel deep but do not overpower my features. I would be interested if others have compared palette labels before replacing a whole closet? I am deliberately leaving bright lipstick, dramatic jewelry, and online quizzes out of this first comparison. Those may be useful later, but right now I only need a repeatable view of familiar clothing in ordinary daylight. A few careful notes feel more useful than a dramatic makeover or a rushed decision about every future purchase.
