Hey Iza, I'm writing to you from Peru, where I'm co-leading a
retreat with my friend Carol Allen and a wonderful group of women. And I have to tell you… I'm completely fascinated by what we're learning here. We've been discovering plants with traditional healing uses, oils and fragrances used for generations, and yesterday we experienced an absolutely out-of-this-world sound healing using instruments whose origins go back thousands of years. Then last night, we watched performers tell ancient stories through music and dance, carrying traditions passed down for hundreds of years. It really got me thinking We tend to believe that because we live in the modern world, we must have all the advanced technology. But ancient civilizations understood things about plants, sound, vibration, energy, and the natural world that we're still exploring today. The Egyptians are another civilization that has always fascinated me. And recently I came across something VERY interesting involving quartz. Quartz has a remarkable property called piezoelectricity. When certain quartz crystals are put under mechanical pressure, they can generate an electrical charge. Modern science formally identified the piezoelectric effect in the 1800s But some people believe ancient civilizations may have understood and worked with quartz's energetic properties long before we had a scientific name for it. And this is where it gets really interesting. There's a modern device inspired by the idea of combining quartz with other materials to create an energetic field in your environment. You can literally place it on your desk or somewhere in your home. They're calling it the "Pharaoh's Charging Station." And after everything I've been experiencing here in Peru, you KNOW I had to investigate this one.
Now that's my kind of technology. P.S. If you're fascinated by the idea
that ancient civilizations may have known things about energy that we're
only beginning to rediscover, you'll definitely want to see this. |
