Good news, gamers and horror fans. The new reboot of Resident Evil, in theatres Friday, is a good one. Or, as critic Barry Hertz puts it, director Zach Cregger’s gross-out zombie action flick is as funny as it is disgusting – and that’s a good thing.

And on stage in Toronto, theatre critic Aisling Murphy calls the stage adaptation of novel A Fine Balance at Crow’s Theatre an exquisite and nauseating exploration of Emergency-era India. She writes: “Director Chris Abraham’s exceptional production weaves in just enough hope – and just enough chuckles – to keep the story from languishing in anguish.” Read more.
