The advanced AI models that are the subject of a global conversation about the risks posed by the technology rely on data centres to power them. The US has the highest number of such sites in the world, so it's no surprise that the backlash against them is growing, with the opposition more pronounced among Democrats on the left, writes Faisal Islam.
