 Happy Birthday to the U.S. Capitol Guide Service!
On this day in 1876, Congress established the U.S. Capitol Guide Force. For 150 years, official Capitol Guides have welcomed countless visitors to the halls of the U.S. Capitol and served as the public face of Capitol tours. Over time, our ranks, responsibilities, contributions, and uniforms have evolved, but the tradition of educating and inspiring remains the same.
 Outdoor Tours Return
Explore the beautiful U.S. Capitol Grounds on this 50-minute tour. Meet our knowledgeable guides at the north entrance of the Capitol Visitor Center. No reservations or tour passes are required. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. This tour will be offered on Labor Day.
 Constitution Day
The U.S. Constitution is one of the oldest in the world. On Thursday, September 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., we are offering free family-friendly activities that transport you to 1787 when the framers of the Constitution wrote one of our nation's founding documents.
