The American Folklife Center has been rolling out special programming all year, in celebration of its 50th anniversary. On September 17th, during Live! at the Library, the Center will open its exhibit, "Alive in Many Hands: The American Folklife Center at 50." The exhibit is intended to provide visitors with an exploration of what folklife is, how it has been documented in the Center's archives, and what they can do to sustain folk traditions in their own communities. In this post, members of the content committee share a sneak peek at the upcoming exhibit and some of the special programming taking place around the opening.
