Most people know that a while back, LinkedIn decided they didn’t want anyone going viral on the platform anymore. A shame. But you can see why they did it. (By the way, I always translate the phrase “going viral” to “making money” since that’s what I’m trying to do on social media anyway. Don’t write this off just because you don’t want to be an influencer. I don’t either) Back to the story At the time, they were flooded with this new stuff called AI slop. Actually it didn’t even have that name yet. Either way, the big boys at LinkedIn knew they had a problem. Let me translate that boardroom speak for you. It means: "That viral sh*t ain't gonna fly here." Like I said. Kind of a bummer. The new rules meant it was impossible for me (or anyone) to do numbers like these. Yes. Those were the good ole days. Still, I’ve never been one to just roll over and accept defeat. I knew LinkedIn would still be valuable. For gods sakes there are over 1 billion people on the platform. Just for context - LinkedIn has 10x the number of people who watch the American Super Bowl. Weird right? Businesses will pay millions of dollars to be seen at Super Bowl time. But they won’t spend 20 minutes writing LinkedIn posts that could get them even more exposure over time. Ah well. That’s more for me and you. Anyway, I’m getting off topic a bit. Like I said, LinkedIn made new rules: nobody goes viral. However… This, like everything, was solved by experiments and obsession. I was able to crack the code on the new LinkedIn. More importantly… I taught those tricks to my audience. Who quickly got results like this: And this And this And this Pretty fun stuff. And like I said at the top. These numbers turn into revenue, yeah? You can’t go to the bank and cash in the impressions you got on some post. But if you have a business, the game is very simple:
