The man accused of killing Charlie Kirk could face the death penalty.

• In a ruling yesterday: A judge said there is enough evidence for Tyler James Robinson, 23, to stand trial on murder charges that could carry the death penalty if he is convicted.

• Robinson pleaded not guilty: He is charged with killing Kirk as the conservative activist addressed students in Utah last year. The case deepened fears of political violence.

• Last weekend: A flash flood swept through the national park, killing at least two people. It was caused by torrential rain and fueled by an atmosphere loaded with moisture.
