Throughout 2026, the American Folklife Center (AFC) has been celebrating its 50th anniversary with a dynamic suite of public programs. This celebration will culminate with the opening of a new exhibition, Alive in Many Hands: The American Folklife Center at 50, set to premier to the public on September 17 in the Thomas Jefferson Building’s Southwest Gallery at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
