Student Device Take-Home Choice
Families may choose whether their child takes an FCPS-issued device home. If you would like your child to continue bringing a device home, no action is necessary. If you would prefer that the device remain at school, please visit the Parent Digital Consent System and toggle the switch for “Student Device Take-Home Opt-Out.”
Directions for accessing and completing the form are available on the FCPS Digital Consent Directions page.
Please note that the wording and toggle for this choice can be confusing, and some families may accidentally select the wrong option. If you need assistance or would like to confirm your choice, please contact Katie Smallwood. Please tell her whether you want your child to take the device home or leave it at school, and she will be happy to help ensure your preference is recorded correctly.
If you select this option the device will not come home and stay at school.
If you select this option, the device will come home if your student’s grade-level sends devices home.
School Supplies
It's time to start gathering school supplies for the new school year! Grade-level supply lists are available on the Greenbriar East School Supply Lists webpage. We encourage families to purchase supplies before the first day of school so students are ready to learn from day one.
First Day of School - Raptor Check In
On the first day of school, families are welcome to walk their students to their classrooms. We hope this helps our Roadrunners feel comfortable and excited as they begin the new school year!
All family members entering the building will need to check in as visitors. To help make the check-in process smoother on the first morning, please register as a visitor in advance. After registering, you will receive a QR code. Bring your QR code with you on the first day and scan it at the front office to have your visitor badge printed.
Please remember that walking students to their classrooms is a first-day-of-school opportunity only. We appreciate your help in making the first morning welcoming and smooth for everyone!
Your Guide to GBE: Family Handbook
Looking for important information about Greenbriar East? Our Family Handbook is now available on the GBE website! The handbook is a helpful resource for families throughout the school year and includes important school information, procedures, and expectations.
We encourage all families to review the Family Handbook and use it as a resource whenever questions come up during the school year.

Chantilly Magic School Bus Event

We had a great time connecting with so many GBE families at last week's Chantilly Pyramid Magic School Bus event! It was wonderful to see familiar faces, meet new families, and share in the excitement of getting ready for a new school year.
School supplies were distributed during the event. If your family could still use assistance with school supplies, please reach out to our family liaison, Daniela Kwon, who is happy to help connect families with available resources.
