Adam Driver will play Mister Sinister and Inde Navarette will go Rogue in Marvel's ‘X-Men' reboot

Adam Driver will make a long-anticipated entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play super villain Mister Sinister, and “Obsession” breakout star Inde Navarette will play Rogue in Disney ‘s forthcoming film reboot of “X-Men.”

Driver and Navarette were among the new cast members announced Friday night at Disney’s D23 convention by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, along with Driver’s “Girls” castmate Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier and Maya Boyd as Storm. The film is slated for release in May 2028.

The announcements were the biggest news to emerge from Disney Entertainment’s D23 presentation that also brought updates on its forthcoming “Star Wars” titles and a song-and-dance that went sideways from the stars of “Frozen 3.”

Mark Rydell, the Oscar-nominated director of ‘On Golden Pond,' dies at 97

Mark Rydell, the Oscar-nominated director of the sentimental blockbuster “On Golden Pond” who worked with such Hollywood heavyweights as Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn, Steve McQueen and John Wayne, has died. He was 97.

His daughter, Amy Rydell, told The Hollywood Reporter that her father died Thursday of natural causes at a retirement community for the entertainment industry in the Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles.

“Hard to put into words how much I loved my dad,” she posted Friday on her Instagram account. “He was truly one of a kind. Funniest and most talented person I’ve ever known.”

Selena Gomez and her mom accused of fraud over their mental health startup

Superstar Selena Gomez and her mother are accused of defrauding investors of their mental health startup, Wondermind, in a federal lawsuit filed Thursday.

Wondermind, which was co-founded by Gomez; her mother, Mandy Teefey; and Daniella Pierson in November 2021, touts mental fitness practices and tools.

The suit accuses Wondermind and its founders of falsely representing the company’s infrastructure, leadership and partnerships to investors and concealing the alleged fraud for more than three years.

Chick-fil-A (finally) launches its take on a southern breakfast staple

Chick-fil-A is finally putting an iconic southern breakfast staple on its menu — and you can get it any time of day.

On Aug. 12, the chicken chain announced that its new Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches will be launching in restaurants nationwide on Aug. 24.

Customers can enjoy two versions of the dish, depending on the time of day: a Chicken & Waffles Sandwich during breakfast hours (6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), and a larger Chicken & Waffles Sandwich throughout the rest of the day.

Simone Biles teases gymnastics comeback at training gym: ‘Just how I left it' 

Simone Biles is back in the gym that built her and teasing a potential gymnastics comeback.

The Olympic champion posted a series of Instagram stories from inside World Champions Centre, the Texas gym owned by her parents where she trained for years to became an 11‑time Olympic medalist.

In her first photo, Biles stands in front of a pit filled with red foam cubes, surrounded by beams, mats, a trampoline and a banner that reads, “The World is Yours.”

‘Camp Rock 3' ending includes a sweet Demi Lovato cameo and new Final Jam winner

Turns out the final jam wasn’t all that final, because camp is back in session with “Camp Rock 3.”

“Camp Rock 3” premiered on Disney Channel Aug. 13, 18 years after the 2008 release of the original, with “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” just two years after.
