Abode Adds Outdoor Security Sensors
Abode Systems has introduced two weather-resistant sensors designed to monitor outdoor and other nontraditional entry points: the Garage Tilt Sensor and Outdoor Contact Sensor. Both sensors integrate with Abode's smart home security systems and can be used with the company's CUE automation engine to trigger actions based on activity. For example, users can configure driveway lights to turn on when a gate opens after dark or have a garage door close automatically after remaining open for a specified period.

After splurging on the World Cup and Amazon Prime Day sales, Americans unexpectedly cut their spending in July by the biggest amount in more than a year. Retail sales fell 0.6% last month, marking the biggest decrease since May 2025, compared with a revised gain of 0.2% in June, according to the Commerce Department data released Friday.
