Luigi Mangione pleads guilty to federal charges in the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO

Luigi Mangione, 28, told the court he tracked UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s location by posing as a potential investor ahead of the investors conference.

He also told the judge that he was motivated to kill Thompson because of his experience with the healthcare system as a patient with a back injury.

Mangione faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. He will be sentenced at a separate hearing on Dec. 18.
