We're tracking soupy weather today. When will we get a break from this humidity? Not for a few days. We also continue to follow the latest from the Lindsay Clancy trial, and we have an update on Cyclospora illnesses in Massachusetts. Plus, the MBTA commuter who pressed an emergency stop button to help a woman whose clothes were caught in the escalator spoke to us about the incident. I'm Kaitlin McKinley Becker, and these are your headlines.

Heat is the focus in the coming days as temperatures climb close to 90 degrees in most spots (excluding the Capes/Islands).

If you’re thinking that it doesn’t match up to the heat we had earlier in the season, you’re right. Temps before the Fourth of July were in the low 100s. The difference this time is the humidity.

Dew points will hover in the low and mid-70s. Super soupy for any point in summer.

Cases of the illness caused by the cyclospora parasite roughly tripled in Massachusetts from June to July, and some of this year’s cases are apparently linked to a national iceberg lettuce recall, state health officials said Wednesday.

The 147 cases of cyclosporiasis, the illness caused by cyclospora that can lead to intense diarrhea, that have been reported in Massachusetts this year are more than in a typical season but not the most seen locally in the last decade, the state’s Department of Public Health said.

Since 2016, the most annual cases of the illness in the Bay State is 211; he fewest is 23, officials said.

Guy Dayan stepped onto the escalator at the MBTA’s Davis station in Somerville, Massachusetts, just after 7 a.m. on July 31 as he began his daily commute to work.

Within moments, he saw someone trying to climb the steps in reverse and he noticed a commotion. A woman was lying at the bottom of the escalator with her clothing caught inside the machinery.

Surveillance video the NBC10 Boston Investigators obtained shows Dayan immediately turned around and hustled off the escalator.

More than seven decades after he was reported missing in action during the Korean War, U.S. Army Cpl. Norman Ronald Levesque is finally home.

Levesque, who was from Taunton, Massachusetts, disappeared on Aug. 11, 1950, after his unit came under attack while defending an airbase in Korea. For decades, his family and community were left without answers.

“To have one of our own come back after being missing in action for decades and decades means everything to this entire community, especially to our veteran community and, of course, to the family,” Taunton Mayor Shaunna O’Connell said.

Today could be another big day in the courtroom when testimony resumes in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial as the medical examiner is expected to take the stand.

Autopsy photos may be shown to the jury, but the judge has ruled due to their graphic nature that the photos cannot be shown outside of the courtroom.

This comes after another emotional day in which the Clancy family’s former nanny testified on Wednesday.

One man is dead following a shooting Wednesday morning in Boston.

Police said they responded to a call for a shooting around 10:15 a.m. at Blue Hill Avenue near Supple Road. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police later told NBC10 Boston crews on scene that an adult male had died from his injuries at the hospital.

Officials also said they don’t believe this was a random shooting, and that the suspect and victim were known to each other. There was no immediate information on a potential shooter or possible getaway vehicle.
