Chicago grocers are severely affected by reductions to SNAP: ‘We need to bail out this industry’

Hundreds of longtime customers of Fresh Market Place have been kicked off SNAP after President Donald Trump’s sweeping domestic policy law, known as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” added newer, stricter work requirements for the program’s recipients in February.
