Happy Thursday Adventurists! I recently met a group of women who have been backpacking together for 30 years — from their time as new moms to post-menopause. I was inspired not only by their grit in trekking to Colorado's backcountry huts, but also the longevity of their unofficial support group, the Hen Hike. They also had some cool hiking hacks, like freezing Nalgene bottles full of raw scrambled eggs to keep their other perishable foods cool. I am lucky enough to know how special and rare it is to have decades-long friendships, and I especially loved seeing these women thriving in their 60s. Their story proves life's peak is whenever and wherever you make it. P.S. Colorado's 150th birthday is on Saturday | |
