Welcome to the Newsletter

A short and sweet newsletter this month because I've been deep in the writing cave.

So deep that the way out may be blocked by all the emails I haven't answered while obsessively working on this project!

I did, however, take a break on Saturday night to make these Loopy Whisk Caramel Cookies - then I ate about six of them. No regrets.

Now that I've exited the cave for a short duration, I'm also hoping for clear weather later this week so I can tidy up my dahlia patch, as the plants are well and truly sleeping for winter.

Gardener Nalini is further wondering if she should fully redo her other garden, which would mean digging up about fifty plants. Gardener Nalini is very ambitious and has a shovel and possibly no self-control.

Summer blooms to the right. Up front is an anemone dahlia, which has a unique shape and look.

Auckland's been chilly this week, but I've been keeping up my walks, and today, I was rewarded for it by getting to see a gorgeous ragdoll kitty in the neighborhood who behaves more like a dog. She allowed me to pet her
majestically floofy self. Day made. :)

In bookish news, I have three events in NZ this August. I have the details for two of them below, and will send the third through once I have the go ahead. I hope to see you there!

The fabulous photo on the left is from a writing retreat I attended in May. I think there were 20+ of us and we overloaded on writing, talking, and eating.

I haven't been on a writing retreat with other writers for a number of years, but this gorgeous and talented crowd reminded me just how much I love them.

I hope you're having a lovely season, whether you're in the cold or in the heat, and here's to a wonderful second half of 2026.

Thank you for your continued joy in Archangel's Eternity and the Guild Hunter series as a whole.

Your enduring love for this world and its characters has been an integral part of this journey, and something I will never forget.
