Yes I think arranging the backyard pavers in a running bond pattern rather than a straight grid would give the patio a more natural feel. We looked at several samples last weekend at the supply yard and the bluestone with the irregular edges seemed to fit that look better than the cut sandstone. The only thing is we would need to order an extra half pallet to account for the additional cutting around the curved border. Also remind me to grab the plate compactor from Tim on Thursday afternoon before the mortar delivery shows up Friday morning. I called the rental place and they said the earliest we could get it is Wednesday but Tim said we could borrow his if we return it by Saturday. Let me know if that timeline works on your end because I can shift my lunch break to meet him at the shop.

Actually I think the best way to approach the raised bed layout is to run the drip lines on a separate zone from the lawn sprinklers. The tomatoes and peppers need less frequent but deeper watering compared to the grass especially during July when things dry out quickly. I checked the soil moisture yesterday afternoon with that probe and the beds were still damp two inches down even though we had not watered in four days. That tells me we can probably set the timer to every third day for twenty minutes rather than daily. Also the rosemary and lavender along the south wall really do not need supplemental water at all once they establish. I can pick up a battery timer from the hardware store on Tuesday if you want to keep the controller simple. Let me know if you want me to grab the flexible risers too.
