A major investigation has uncovered “horror” treatment of women going through miscarriages in hospital emergency departments. Jackie Sinnerton’s special report reveals devastating stories from across the country about women left to bleed out on the floor for hours or bent double in pain in full view of waiting patients, with no dignity, privacy or support. One woman says she was turned away from an ED and miscarried at home alone. She then resorted to putting her baby in the freezer. Another said she went through an agonising miscarriage in a hospital waiting room where there was a nearby woman with a puddle of blood beneath her going through the same thing.
