I saw your message about wanting to find a good trail for this weekend. The one I mentioned last week is really solid for a half-day trip. It runs about four miles with a few gentle slopes and plenty of spots to stop and take in the view. The trailhead has a small parking area so arriving before nine helps. I usually bring a couple of sandwiches and extra water because there is no place to refill once you start. The path is mostly shaded which makes a big difference in the warmer months. There is a stream crossing about halfway that is easy to step over but the rocks can be slippery after rain. I would recommend wearing something with good grip. The whole loop takes maybe three hours if you keep a steady pace but we took closer to four with breaks. Let me know if you want to head out together. I have been wanting to get back there.

Thank you for taking a moment to consider this offering.

I started getting into photography last spring and it has been a rewarding hobby. For someone just starting out I would recommend looking at a used mirrorless body rather than buying new. You can pair it with a versatile zoom lens to keep things simple while you learn. The thing that helped me most was practicing composition with my phone before investing in gear. Once I understood framing and lighting better the upgrade to a dedicated camera felt more intentional. There are plenty of online tutorials that are quite good. I usually spend Saturday mornings walking through the park and practicing with different settings. It has been a nice way to slow down and notice details I would normally overlook. Let me know if you want me to send over a list of the resources I found most helpful. There is a local group that meets on the first weekend of each month for a walk and critique session. I have not attended yet but a friend says it is welcoming for all skill levels. The group focuses on natural light and landscape work which might suit what you are interested in. I can forward the details if you would like to check it out together.
