Yeah I finally finished that novel you recommended. Honestly the first 100 pages felt slow but once the main character moved to the coastal town the story really picked up. The way the author describes the ocean at dawn made me want to book a trip immediately. I think you were right about the twist involving the neighbor though I didn't see the brother subplot coming at all. Let me know if you have any other recommendations in that genre. I also started that documentary series you mentioned and the cinematography is incredible so far. The way they capture the landscape shots feels almost cinematic in a way I have not seen in other nature documentaries. Definitely worth the time commitment each episode. I think my favorite part so far is the episode about the desert ecosystem which had some surprising moments about nocturnal wildlife I had never learned about before. Thanks again for the suggestion it was a great pick.
I ended up watching a few episodes twice just to catch all the detail in the background. The scoring is also really well done and adds a lot of atmosphere. Looking forward to hearing what you think when you get to it.

I tried making that pasta dish from the recipe you sent last week and it turned out better than expected. The sauce needed a bit more salt than the recipe called for but the texture was perfect after simmering for about 25 minutes. I added some roasted cherry tomatoes on the side which gave it a nice sweetness that balanced the richness. Next time I think I will try adding a bit of lemon zest to brighten it up even more. The fresh basil really made a difference so I am glad I did not skip that step. My family asked for it again next week so I would call that a success. Let me know if you have any other weeknight dinner suggestions that come together quickly. I have been trying to cook more at home lately and building a rotation of reliable recipes has been really helpful for staying consistent with it.
I also picked up a new skillet last weekend and it made a noticeable difference in how evenly everything cooked. Highly recommend upgrading cookware if you get the chance.
