FRAUD/SCAM ALERT!

VA Connecticut has been made aware of a flyer currently circulating that claims Veterans can receive free athletic shoes from VA at no cost. While the flyer appears professional and includes VA branding, this is NOT an official Department of Veterans Affairs program and should be treated as a scam.

scam 1

At this time, VA does not have a program offering free athletic shoes through the process described in this flyer. Any legitimate VA-issued items (including prosthetics or medically necessary footwear) are:

  • Ordered directly through authorized VA providers
  • Managed within secure VA systems
  • Do not require external account creation or third-party redemption links

Protecting our Veterans from misinformation and potential fraud is a shared responsibility. Thank you for your service and allowing VA Connecticut to serve you.
