Delaware's Congressional Delegation hosted a Veterans Resource Fair on Monday, June 22 at the DelOne Conference Center at DelTech in Dover. Vietnam Navy Veteran Credits Wilmington VA Medical Center With Life-Saving Cancer Discovery

Veteran

When Rick Rambo, a Vietnam Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS John R. Craig, visited the Emergency Room at the Wilmington VA Medical Center on September 21, 2025, he was seeking urgent help for unexpected rectal bleeding.

Rambo was quickly admitted for evaluation and observation. A CT scan performed by the Wilmington VA team promptly pinpointed the source of his bleeding—ruptured polyps in his colon—but also revealed, by chance, a tumor in his bladder.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month

June is a time to increase understanding of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and connect Veterans to effective care and support. The National Center for PTSD leads VA’s efforts to promote hope, encourage treatment, and teach the public about PTSD, its signs, symptoms, and proven therapies. Learn more here.

PTSD

PTSD can happen to anyone. Veterans from all walks of life share their stories of PTSD, treatment, and recovery on VA PTSD’s AboutFace. Visit the site to watch their stories here.
