Hi folks, The next InfoQ Online Certification Programs start with AI Engineering on July 25, Architecture on August 13, and AI Security & Privacy Engineering on August 26. Each program provides senior engineers, architects, technical leads, and engineering managers with a peer cohort to work through decisions they are already making at work. On the conference side, QCon San Francisco 2026 (November 16-20) has added new AI engineering sessions on evals, inference failure modes, adaptive systems, and AI-assisted data platforms. QCon London 2027 (April 13-16) is also open for teams planning next year’s learning budget. The link between the programs and the conferences is the same. Senior practitioners are trying to make better calls on AI systems, architecture, platform strategy, security, and team structure, even as the patterns are still settling. |
InfoQ Online Certification Programs · AI Engineering, Architecture, and AI Security & Privacy EngineeringThe InfoQ Online Certification Programs are built for senior engineers, architects, technical leads, and engineering managers who want to work through a decision from their own organization with senior peers from other companies. Each program runs live online for 5 weeks, 4 hours a week, with facilitation and peer discussion. You bring your own technical decision into the sessions, work through it with the group, and leave with clearer reasoning you can take back to your team. AI Engineering, with Hien Luu. Starts July 25. For engineers building AI systems that need to hold up in production. The program covers AI-native engineering, RAG and context pipelines, agents, platform and infrastructure decisions, evals, and reliability. Architecture, with Luca Mezzalira. Starts August 13. Additional intakes: September 14 and October 16. For senior engineers and architects working through the sociotechnical side of architecture: trade-offs, communication, decentralized decision-making, platform engineering, and the architecture decisions AI is introducing now. Each start date has a BST and an EDT group. AI Security & Privacy Engineering, with Katharine Jarmul. Starts August 26. For teams putting AI near sensitive data, especially in regulated environments. The program covers sensitive data handling, threat modeling and red teaming, controls and sandboxes, observability and evals, and the governance and auditing needed when AI decisions have to stand up to review. QCon San Francisco 2026 (Nov 16-20) · Spotlight on new AI engineering sessions addedQCon San Francisco 2026 has added new AI engineering sessions to the conference site, including: The Revenge of the Data Scientist: Why Reliable AI Needs Evals, Traces, and Metrics. Hamel Husain, ML engineer with 20+ years in applied AI, covers why production AI quality depends on what surrounds the model: traces, metrics, labels, test sets, judges, and direct failure analysis. Progressive Failure Modes of Modern AI Serving Systems. Abi Aryan, AI infrastructure engineer, looks at how serving systems fail in layers, from ungoverned traffic and missing concurrency controls to overloaded infrastructure and broken latency guarantees. Adaptive Systems in Production: What Recommendation Systems Can Teach Us About Agents. Mallika Rao, Senior Engineering Manager @Zocdoc, connects years of running recommendation and personalization systems to the agentic systems teams are building now. Building a Data Platform with AI. This session looks at how AI can support platform workflows while access control, policy, auditability, and human review stay in the underlying systems.
