Principal’s Message to Families
Dear Families,
As we close out SY25-26, there is so much to celebrate from this school year! We are deeply grateful for the partnership, support, and commitment of our students, staff, and families. We are especially proud to share that we met our student academic growth goals, school readiness/attendance goals, as well as our social emotional learning goals. This achievement reflects the commitment of our students, families, and staff; as well as the importance of prioritizing a strong home and school connection. Thank you for your time, ideas, feedback, and support.
As summer begins, we hope your family finds time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments together. Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing our students and families again in August.

Summer Office Hours
On behalf of the staff at Ravensworth, we wish you and your family a wonderful summer break.
During the summer months, our office will be open from 9:00 am–1:00 pm. Please call (703) 426-3600 to reach our front office staff. Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

Lost & Found
 Our Lost and Found will be set up in the school lobby through June 30, 2026. If you've misplaced a jacket, water bottle, lunch box, or any other item, please stop by and take a look. We’d love to reunite these belongings with their owners before the end of the month!
Please claim any items by June 30. Any items that remain unclaimed after that date will be donated.

If you would like your child to have access to a laptop over the summer, please fill out this form. Note that laptop checkout will begin on June 24, 2026, and laptops must be returned by July 31, 2026.

Summer Resources Help Students Stay Curious, Healthy, and Busy
The FCPS Summer Resource Guide has activities and tips on a variety of subjects and interests, from camps and activities to health and safety resources.
Be sure to check back over the summer, as more resources may be added.
Learning Doesn’t Take a Vacation and Neither Does Fun!The FCPS Summer Learning webpage offers ideas and strategies for families to keep students curious until August. Summer is the perfect time to help your student explore new interests, reinforce concepts, and stay engaged!

FCPS Summer Meals for Students |
Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on-site while eating their meals.
This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.
Summer sites will continue to be added, so check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

**Online Ordering Closes July 15, 2026**
Early Release Wednesdays for 2026-27
FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year. The number of days has been reduced from eight to four.
Early release Wednesdays provide elementary teachers with a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with their peers. A well-supported and continuously improving teaching staff leads to better educational outcomes for students.
Please mark your calendars for Ravensworth’s 2026-2027 early release Wednesdays listed below:
