Credit: AFP via Getty Images | | In a brief phone call on Monday, Trump spoke to North America editor Sarah Smith about Israel's strikes on Iran, after both sides fired missiles at each other for the first time since April. The US president was asked whether Netanyahu defied him by retaliating against Iran, despite Trump's instructions. He told the BBC that, by the time he spoke to the Israeli leader, the missiles "were already on their way" and added: "If I tell [Netanyahu] to do something, he does it." Watch the full video here. While Iran said it would pause its strikes if Israel stopped its attacks on Lebanon, the Israeli military has issued a new evacuation order for the city of Tyre. At least three people have been killed in Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon today, according to reports. | | | | | | | | |
